Alyssa May Gold (How I Learned to Drive, Arcadia, Our Dear Dead Drug Lord) will make her solo show debut with The Council November 29–December 4 at a site-specific venue in Manhattan. 

Directed by Molly Clifford, the autobiographical play recounts the pressure Gold faced to have children, her convoluted relationship with Roman Catholicism, and the way female figures have been altered or erased in Biblical tradition. 

Structured as a series of council meetings, 19 seats are available at each performance as Gold attempts to convince the gathered audience of her argument.
