Off-Broadway News A Look at the New York Premiere of Leslye Headland’s Surfer Girl Eight different actors and 4 different directors will tackle the solo play as part of a singular production at The Foley Gallery.

Performances are now underway for the New York premiere of the solo play Surfer Girl by playwright and screenwriter Leslye Headland (Assistance, Bachelorette). Presented by Animus Theatre Company in association with The Dirty Blondes, the production will feature eight actors under the direction of four different directors across its 16 performances.

Surfer Girl is part of Headland's Seven Deadly Play cycle and examines the sin of sloth through a young woman’s journey through life. The play chronicles her attempts to combat a passively inert state of mind that gives rise to her loss of self and to...couch surfing.

The limited engagement kicked off April 10 and will continue through May 30 at The Foley Gallery.
