"I have paired 15 composers with 15 singers they have never worked with," producer Bill Coyne said in a statement. "On a musical theatre blind date the pairs discuss their strengths and weaknesses, passions, fears; the composers write a song specifically for and inspired by the singer, with the intention of reaching new artistic territory."
Participating writers include Timothy Huang, Mary Liz McNamara, Greg Edwards and Paul Libman, Kellen Blair and Joe Kinosian, Alex Rubin and Trevor Bachman, Michael Roberts, Jonathan Monro, Zack Zadek, Douglas Lyons and Ethan Pakchar, Aron Accurso and Adam Overett, David Levinson, John McMahon and Jay Jeffries and Will Reynolds.
Bringing these songs to life will be Tiffan Borelli, Greg Maheu, Jeremy Morse, Allan K Washington, Whitney Winfield Hanley Smith, Emilie Battle, Ariel Dobshinsky, Abbie Getty, Trista Moldovan, James Donegan, Marty Thomas and Patricia Noonan.
Joshua Zecher-Ross is the musical director.
Proceeds will benefit The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24.
