SYNOPSIS: A cross between Spring Awakening and Midsommar, The Turning is a new folk musical thriller about two best friends in search of healing who go to a California desert-based wellness retreat, which ultimately reveals itself to be something else entirely.
The folk/Americana score evokes the sonic sounds of Kacey Musgraves, Noah Kahn, Mumford and Sons, Brandi Carlile, Alison Krauss, and Phoebe Bridgers.
SEEKING:
[ENSEMBLE] (18-60s age range, all ethnicities, ages, and vocal parts) The ensemble defines the world and portrays a range of characters throughout the musical. Every ensemble track will be featured in some way. Most will understudy principal roles. All must be strong pop singers. Looking for ensemble members that both move well and some that are strong dancers.
PREPARATION
Please prepare a brief selection of a pop or musical theater pop song in the style of the show (Folk, Americana, Bluegrass). Similar pop artists include Noah Kahn, Mumford and Sons, Brandi Carlile, Alison Krauss and Phoebe Bridgers.
