DESCRIPTION
Summary: The purpose of this position is to support the production department in their management of broadcast lighting projects consistent with LDG standards and mission. This position will have an emphasis on equipment management, purchasing and receiving and is accountable for ensuring the departmental mission that: projects are executed/implemented from pre-production through closeout, LDG policies and procedures are followed, and deadlines are met. The Project Coordinator may also have primary responsibility for smaller projects, as deemed by the Vice President of Production Services or the Vice President of Operations.
Areas of Responsibility Include:
- Work a minimum of 2 days each week at our equipment warehouse in Moonachie, NJ.
- Log and sort equipment deliveries and prep equipment for shipping.
- Work beside Scheduling Coordinator to ensure that crew and designer calendars are accurate and up to date;
- Collect timesheets from freelance workforce/ track data to ensure timely payroll processing;
- View processes critically and suggest operational improvements;
- Learn financial management aspects of project management, including: budgets, managing budgets during actual production, purchase orders and close outs;
- Support project managers in execution of projects from pre-production through close-out ensuring that work is completed on time and all deadlines are met;
- Follow production department policies and procedures;
- As directed by the projects managers, work with equipment department/production gaffer for purchase and/or rental of project related equipment as appropriate.
Accountabilities
- Work with production team, VP of Production Services and/or VP of Operations to proactively troubleshoot and solve problems so that LDG is seen as a solution-provider;
- Provide regular updates/status reports to the VP of Production Services, project managers, lighting designers, and client managers as requested;
- Participate in project kick-off meetings and ensure that milestones are established;
- At the direction of the project managers, collaborate and communicate with project team to ensure that deliverables and deadlines are being met, and that client satisfaction is achieved;
- Support project managers to ensure that all internal (to LDG) and external (to client) deadlines are met.
