Position Overview
The Edlavitch DCJCC’s Theater J Patron Experience and Accessibility Manager (PEM) will, under the guidance of the Theater J Managing Director, ensure that all Theater J visitors, students, patrons, and volunteers have a safe, welcoming, and high-quality experience when attending Theater J productions, readings, classes, and events, and when interacting with the Theater J website with a goal of building patron loyalty and increasing participation. The PEM co-manages the Ticket Office and Front of House Manager with the JxJ Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
Online Patron Experience
· Keeping the Theater J website up to date and ensuring the user experience is seamless
· Administering Theater J’s ticketing CRM platform Spektrix and ensuring patron records are kept secure and up to date, setting up ticketing for all Theater J performances and events each season, including subscription packages, single tickets, special events, and classes.
· Working with the Arts Marketing Manager and Coordinator to strategically manage Theater J’s ticket inventory, including allocations to third-party vendors, creating discount offers and promotions.
· Planning and executing the annual Theater J subscription campaign and assisting with the creation and distribution of all necessary materials.
Group Sales
· Overseeing Theater J group sales in coordination with the EDCJCC Arts Marketing Manager and Arts Marketing Coordinator to facilitate outreach to groups.
In-Person Patron Experience
· Designing the Theater J front of house experience, working with the EDCJCC front of house team to ensure that Theater J audiences have a smooth customer experience from parking/transit, wayfinding through the building, concessions, and appropriate pre-show and post-show communication.
· Co-Managing the Ticket Office Manager.
· Setting up ticketing for all Theater J performances each season, including subscription packages, and single tickets.
· Guiding the Ticket Office Manager in overseeing Theater J’s volunteer usher program, including establishing policies, recruitment, and scheduling.
· Working with the EDCJCC’s Director of Security to ensure that security procedures are in place for Theater J performances and that all Theater J staff are trained in those procedures.
· Coordinating the creation of programs for Theater J productions with Theater J staff and the EDCJCC’s graphic design team.
· Assisting Theater J’s Development team with opening night seating and other special events.
Tracking Growth and Retention
· Tracking audience data including incoming program fees and sales income, reconciling subscription and single ticket sales, including royalty reports, and maintaining accurate box office records.
· Using audience data to improve audience retention and patron experience.
Accessibility
· Overseeing Theater J accessibility programs, including captioning, assisted listening devices, requests for large print programs, and other initiatives that increase Theater J’s accessibility.
· Administering Theater J’s Passports Free Ticket program working with community partners to distribute free tickets to clients in senior centers, emergency housing, vocational training, and other social service programs.
Other
· Serving as a full Theater J staff member providing support for all activities of the theater as needed.
· Attending staff meetings, department meetings, agency activities, and training as required.
