Job Title: Company Manager

Location: Cooperstown, NY
Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 (Hourly non-exempt)
The Company Manager is a pivotal member of the Glimmerglass Festival team, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience for our seasonal employees. This position oversees all aspects of hospitality, serving as the primary point of communication and concierge for housing and transportation needs for apprentices, staff and artists. The Company Manager negotiates and secures leased housing while managing the occupancy of company-owned residences.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly adaptable, and excels in verbal and written communication. They foster a welcoming environment for company staff while upholding company policies. This position is well-suited for individuals with experience in residential management or real estate.
Key Responsibilities:
Housing: Oversee the coordination of arrivals and departures for all company members using company-provided housing. Assign accommodations based on individual contractual requirements and needs.
Contract Negotiation: Identify rental properties and negotiate lease terms that align with the organization’s operational requirements.
Transportation: Manage organizational transportation needs; including scheduling, driver training and maintenance of the company’s vehicle fleet to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
Management: Supervise Company Management year-round, seasonal staff, and apprentices.
Budgeting and Reporting: Responsible for drafting the departmental budget. Track departmental expenses, generate reports as requested, and provide recommendations to maintain cost-effectiveness.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong organizational and collaborative skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and problem-solve quickly and benevolently is essential.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, landlords, and team members and is an advocate for the company.
Familiarity with tracking and monitoring budgets in a collaborative setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, G-Suite, or similar administrative tools.
A valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance requirements.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and overtime between May and August including periodic on call hours
Education/Experience:
Experience in Company Management, Hospitality Management, Property Management, Real Estate or Business Administration, or any combination of related education and practical experience
Proven experience managing a diverse team and complex operation
Experience working with non-profit or arts organizations is a plus
Knowledge of the local residential landscape
