Open Call for Actors: Audition for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Are you ready to spell your way to the spotlight? We are excited to announce auditions for our upcoming production of the Tony Award-winning musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee!

About the Show: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a hilarious and heartfelt musical that follows a group of quirky adolescents as they compete in a spelling bee, each hoping to win the ultimate prize. With a fast-paced and witty script, this show offers a range of dynamic roles and memorable musical numbers.

About Us: We are a small 75 seat theatre in rural Pomfret, Vermont. Hired Actors will have access to on site housing and a shared company car. More information about us can be found on our audition form, and through our IG account!

Who we are looking for: We are looking for non-union actors who identify as adaptable and kind. This is an intense, shortened process. We are looking for actors who save the drama for the stage!

Roles Available: We are looking for talented performers for the following roles:

Chip Tolentino: A boy scout and the previous year's champion.
Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre: The youngest and most politically aware speller, she speaks with a lisp.
Leaf Coneybear: A quirky, home-schooled boy who makes his own clothes.
William Barfée: A finalist last year, with a unique spelling technique.
Marcy Park: A multi-talented girl who is tired of always winning.
Olive Ostrovsky: (this role has been cast)
Rona Lisa Peretti: The moderator and a former champion.
Vice Principal Douglas Panch: The frustrated word pronouncer.
Mitch Mahoney: The official comfort counselor, performing community service.

Audition Requirements:
-Completed Audition Form (see link below)
-Recorded Monologue: Please record a comedic or happy monologue.
-Recorded Song: Please record 32 bars of a song from the show that showcases your vocal range. (Auditions without a song from the show will not be considered.)

Rehearsal and Performance Dates:
- Rehearsals: Sept 3rd-Sept 18th
- Performances: Sept 19th - Sept 29th
