The Marketing Associate is an essential member of the Marketing team, working closely with the Marketing Manager and Managing Producer to execute marketing, membership, and fundraising campaigns that support revenue generation for the organization’s $5M annual budget. At Vineyard Theatre, Marketing, Development, and Audience Services function as extensions of our artistic mission. All campaigns are shaped by the artists we collaborate with and the work we produce. This role is a full-time, exempt position and may be required to work late nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Content Creation
Design, build, and schedule email marketing communications for the Marketing, Development, and Audience Services departments under the guidance of the Marketing Manager and Managing Producer.
Edit and proofread copy for external communications across multiple platforms.
Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop, manage, and implement content strategies for all social media channels.
Assist in producing digital video content for social media and other promotional uses.
Assist in updating, organizing, and designing assets for display advertising, paid social campaigns, and digital promotions.
Support coordination with printing vendors to schedule, produce, and receive printed marketing materials.
Help organize and maintain photo, video, and graphic libraries for The Vineyard.
Work with freelance photographers and videographers to facilitate content capture for Vineyard events.
Website & Platform Management
Oversee updates and general management of the Vineyard Theatre website; serve as the primary liaison to web developers.
Utilize digital marketing and ticketing platforms (such as DotDigital, Spektrix, CrowdEngage) to support campaign execution.
Data, Analytics & Reporting
Work with digital marketing agency to collect, track, and analyze performance data across digital platforms—including email, social media, paid advertising, and website traffic—to inform marketing strategy.
Prepare regular reports and dashboards that distill key insights for leadership, highlighting campaign efficacy, audience trends, and recommendations for optimization.
Monitor KPIs and provide actionable analysis to support revenue goals, audience growth, and engagement strategies.
Stay up-to-date on best practices in digital analytics, reporting tools, and data-driven marketing.
General
Stay informed about trends in digital and social advertising; propose new ideas for audience engagement.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Marketing & Creative Skills
2–4 years of experience in marketing, digital media, social media, or graphic design, preferably within the performing arts.
Demonstrated experience creating and managing email, social media, display advertising, and paid social content.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign; experience with Photoshop and Premiere is a plus.
Working knowledge of DotDigital, Spektrix, CrowdEngage, or comparable digital marketing/email platforms.
Familiarity with WordPress or other web management systems.
Knowledge of Spektrix or other ticketing systems is helpful but not require.
Analytics & Reporting
Familiarity with Google Analytics, Meta analytics tools, or similar platforms strongly preferred.
Ability to collect, interpret, and present data clearly to leadership and cross-departmental teams.
Experience developing basic dashboards or reports (Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools).
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to maintain a consistent organizational voice and strong attention to grammar and detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Qualities
A passion for theatre, artists, and audiences is essential.
Knowledge of NYC theatre, past and present, is a plus.
A desire to build a career in the theatre industry is welcomed.
Compensation
$67,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience
Full benefits package, including health, dental, vision, vacation, 403(b) with match, and commuter benefits, upon vesting.
