DESCRIPTION

Revival Theatre Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is seeking a non-equity Marcy Parks and William Barfee for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Looking to fill these two roles immediately.

1. 1st rehearsal September 15, 2024

2. Opening October 11-closing October 20, 2024. (7 performances) with possible add on.

3. Seeking actors who have played the role before, but not required

4. Actors travel is paid for and actors are provided housing and a vehicle.

About RTC: Revival Theatre Company was formed in 2014 and formed as a professional theatre company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Each year September through June, Revival Theatre Company produces three full-scale musicals, classical and contemporary. Every summer, we hold open auditions for performers. We seek strong actors who sing and dance well. We welcome and encourage all types and ethnicities.

We strive to seek a balance between professional performers, emerging young artists, and local Cedar Rapids talent for our unique mix and approach to contemporary and classic productions.

A Putnam County Spelling Bee finalist last year, he was eliminated because of an allergic reaction to peanuts and is back for vindication. His famous "Magic Foot" method of spelling has boosted him to spelling glory, even though he only has one working nostril and a touchy, bullying personality. He develops a crush on Olive.. E4–B5. The ultimate overachiever, Marcy has never been given another option. She comes from a family where excellence is expected and so simply produced. A parochial school student, she assumes God, too, expects perfection. She sees herself as a mass of problems but she keeps them to herself. Having moved often because of her parents' work, she knows she can beat the local competition. Her many talents include piano, dance, martial arts, baton twirling, and/or whatever special gifts you can find in your casting pool. C4-E5.
