Molière in the Park (MIP) is a non-profit 501c3 based in Brooklyn, NY. Its goal is to bring world-class theater to Brooklyn and NYC for all to enjoy at no cost and to enhance and add to Brooklyn’s rich culture and diversity.
MIP seeks a Line Producer for its upcoming production of The Imaginary Invalid to be presented at LeFrak Center, in Prospect Park, in May 2025. The Line Producer will be responsible for all logistical and budgetary aspects of the production. The position reports to the Artistic Director.
Position Overview:
- Job Type: Part-time
- Work Arrangement: Remote with occasional in-person meetings and on-site requirements during rehearsals and the run of show.

Primary Responsibilities:
The Line Producer is responsible for all logistical and budgetary aspects of the production, including:
- Serve as primary liaison to all unions, including but not limited to AEA, SAG/AFTRA and USA/IATSE.
- Generate and execute all contracts and agreements.
- Build a production calendar, including design deadlines, tech schedule, and production meetings, and attend key production dates: first rehearsal, first read, load-in, all technical rehearsals, all preview performances, strike, and other rehearsals as needed.
- Facilitate production meetings, helping drive forward the collaborative process, assuring designs are achievable and stay within budget, facilitating cross-departmental communication, and flagging potential challenges.
- Oversee production budget as related to all technical and design elements of production build.
- Responsible for all payouts, payments and distribution of funds including (but not limited to):
- Workers Compensation payments and audit
- Unemployment Insurance
- Payroll
- IRS Federal, state, and city taxes
- Production insurance and insurance premiums
- Hire all production technicians and overhire, including (but not limited to) TD, electricians, carpenters, painters, board ops, wardrobe, etc.
- Comply with and make sure others comply with all rules and regulations established for the use and protection of MIP.
- Read daily rehearsal and performance reports, and follow up as needed to ensure all notes are addressed.
- Coordinate and supervise strike, including the return of all rented/borrowed props, costumes, and other items.
- Track designer expenditures, rentals, and borrowed items regularly, and request written approval from the Artistic Director for additional expenditures so that designers don’t exceed budgets.
- Authorize contractor payments and budget advances, document invoices and reimbursement requests.
- Collect receipts from department heads and reconcile against the master budget.
- Manage production inventory and purchase supplies as needed.
- Ensure smooth production and excellent communication, wrap-up, and final evaluation of the project and all programming pertaining to our main production in Prospect Park.
- Manage communication with artists, internal departments, and other stakeholders to support calendaring, budgeting, planning, and artistic development.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years professional production experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of non-profit theater and/or arts organizations
- Strong commitment to Moliere In the Park’s mission and values
- Organized, highly detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Excellent writing, research, and verbal communication skills
- Proactive and goal-oriented
- Team player- interested in learning all aspects of the small organization
- Experience with Google Suite
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as required
- Previous experience managing and developing a team

- Excellent interpersonal skills, protocol awareness, and communication skills, particularly public relations/public speaking.
- Exceptional relationship management skills to function as the primary liaison among artists and all staff
