AutoCAD Drafter Job Opening
GENERAL INFORMATION:
- Full time
- Pay rate based on experience
- Location: Sewell, NJ
SUMMARY:
Drafter’s work with fabrication team to assist in drawing, completion, and execution of construction drawings. The primary responsibility is to create construction drawings and CNC parts under the supervision of Project Managers and Technical Designers. Drafters will meet goals in key areas including, accuracy, reliability, and quality.
Operating hours are 7am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday. Overtime hours and occasional Saturdays as needed. Employment based on active projects, expected workload, and capacity to learn additional skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create basic drawings for a range of needs including overview, construction, assembly, and installation
- Participate in pre-fabrication meetings with production team to outline construction methodology and approach
- Work with various fabrication teams and maintain attention to details
- Perform site surveys to guarantee precise accuracy in drawings
- Pull, prepare, and program CNC parts from drawings
- Work from 3d models created by others to produce construction drawings
- Understand and translate client drawings for fabrication
- Operate machines including CNC Routers, Waterjet, and 3d printers
- Communicate with management on progress and timelines
- Support shop floor by providing clarification, CNC’d parts, and quality control as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree or relevant hands-on experience in a related field
- Trade school or technical training with AutoCAD
- Minimum 1 year of professional AutoCAD Drawing 2018 or later, proficiency in 3d is a plus
- Must be able to multi-task and establish priorities based on production schedules and shop needs
- Must be able to maintain high level of accuracy in drawings
- Experience with CNC machine programming or operation is a plus
- Experience in a fabrication shop environment is a plus
- Familiarity with steel, aluminum, and wood construction methods is a plus
