JOE TURNER’S COME AND GONE on Broadway seeking candidates from historically underrepresented groups for “behind the scenes” jobs in commercial theater.

No prior commercial theater experience is required for this fellowship. Relevant experience from other fields, not-for-profits, or from an educational setting, is welcomed - and a love of the theater is encouraged!

POSITION: JOE TURNER’S COME AND GONE Broadway General Management/Company Management Fellowship
COMPENSATION: $820.00 per week
TIME COMMITMENT: Full time, approximately 40 hours per week, exact hours vary
ABOUT US: Set in Pittsburgh in 1911 during a pivotal era of migration and transformation, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone centers on Seth and Bertha Holly who run a warm, orderly boardinghouse for those navigating uncertain paths. Taraji P. Henson (Hidden Figures, “Empire”) makes her Broadway debut alongside Cedric the Entertainer (CBS’ “The Neighborhood”), Joshua Boone, and Ruben Santiago-Hudson, who return to the stage in a luminous revival of August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, directed by Emmy® and Golden Globe winner Debbie Allen (“Grey’s Anatomy,” Cat on a Hot Tin Roof).
POSITION OVERVIEW: This 20-week fellowship is a program that will offer early career professionals and interested students the opportunity to observe and contribute to the mounting of a show from its pre-production preparation through opening night.
IDEAL SKILLS:
· Current student, recent graduate, or early career professional in theater, arts management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills with acute attention to detail.
· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
· Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
· Stellar time management/prioritization.
· Familiarity with NYC and comfort running errands in a fast-paced urban environment.
· A positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to take initiative.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist in day-to-day GM/CM administrative tasks.
· Providing on-site assistance at the rehearsal studio and theatre.
· Support producing efforts during pre-production, rehearsals, and performances.
· Coordinate and run errands across NYC, ensuring the timely delivery of materials and completion of tasks.
· Help maintain and organize office systems, files, and production materials.
· Conduct research related to upcoming projects, contracts, and industry trends.
· Participate in team meetings, offering input and taking notes.
· Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, reports, investor correspondence and production-related documentation.
· Manage communications with vendors, artists, etc. as needed.
· Assisting with meeting planning and calendar scheduling.
· Manage and track investor documents and incoming payments.
WHAT WE HOPE YOU WILL LEAVE WITH:
· A thorough understanding of the management structure of a commercial production
· An understanding of a show budget and how to manage it
· Knowledge of what a GM/CM does during tech
· Basic QuickBooks skills
· A basic understanding of the theatrical unions & union rules
