Playhouse Stage Company is seeking submissions from non-union performers for select roles in the upcoming production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. SEEKING

MR. SALT – Male-presenting, 18+ to play 40s-50s
Veruca Salt’s extravagantly wealthy and hopelessly indulgent father, a man who has built his empire on giving his daughter absolutely everything she wants. Desperately trying to maintain the dignity of a powerful industrialist while unraveling under Veruca’s relentless demands; requires bold comedic instincts and a strong character baritone able to embrace heightened, grotesque theatricality.

MALE ENSEMBLE DANCERS – Male-presenting, 18+.
Versatile musical theatre dancers who sing well and move confidently across styles. Ensemble members will portray multiple characters throughout. Strong dance and vocal ability required.

Submission: Please submit a dance reel and either an audition cut or vocal reel.

FEMALE ENSEMBLE (GRANDMA GEORGINA / Cover VIOLET BEAUREGARDE) – Female-presenting, Black, Indigenous, Latine, API, MENASA, or Mixed. 18+.

Seeking strong comedic actress/dancers who sing well and move confidently. Track includes ensemble and the role of Grandma Georgina, as well as covering Violet Beauregarde. Must have strong comedic instincts and character versatility.

AUGUSTUS GLOOP – Male-presenting, 18+ to play 14-16.
A gluttonous, gleefully excessive teenager whose appetite knows no bounds. In this heightened, grotesque take on Dahl’s world, Augustus is unapologetically indulgent and physically comic, reveling in the absurdity of his endless hunger. Strong comedic instincts and character tenor/baritone.
