PREPARATION

Please prepare two contrasting monologues or one monologue and one song selection. Audition shouldnot exceed 3-minutes total. Bring sheet music in theproper key, plus headshot and resume. An accompanist will be provided for those choosing to sing.

JUNE LEVANT - mid 40s, Female - Attractive and gracious under pressure. Seemingly put-upon, she actually has a core of steel.

ALVIN FINNEY - 20s - 30s, Male, African American - A young medical orderly working in the mental ward at Mt. Sinai, with a droll sense of humor and serious ambition.

MAX WEINBAUM - 20s, Male - Jack Paar's new production assistant. A young man whose ingratiating enthusiasm is matched only by comic ineptitude.

HYPATIA TARLETON - 20s, Female - Their daughter. Beautiful, confident, and restless. She enjoys admiration but struggles with the expectations placed on her as a woman.

LEONARD TARLETON - 20s, Male - Hypatia’s brother. Sensitive, intellectual, and somewhat passive. Often overshadowed by stronger personalities.
