DESCRIPTION

Shatter The Glass Productions, in association with Nashley Tisdale Productions is currently seeking actors for a Staged Reading of The Fear You Enact.

This show is being presented at the Chain Theater (312 W 36th St), in the Brick Studio Theatre space on the third floor. The Chain is an off-off Broadway theater with a strong focus on the development of new work. The show is written by Nash Johns, directed by Graydon Gund, and produced by Nash Johns, Adriana Nocco and Emily Whalen.

Please read all the info below before submitting:

Zoom rehearsals will be held May 8-10th. Cast will be expected to have flexible availability between May 11th and May 14th for in-person rehearsals at the Chain Theater on W 36th. Cast will be expected to keep May 15, 16 and 17 open for tech, dress rehearsal and performances.

This show is unpaid, but we will be providing performers with production photos and video footage.

Cast will perform with scripts in hand, but some roles require the performance of brief memorized choreography.

Character Descriptions:

Ethel Billings*, Any Race, Cis Woman/Trans Woman/Non-Binary. Vlad’s Wife. A drugged up 50’s housewife. Extremely jaded as she’s very aware that her husband is sleeping around behind her back.

Carmella Strassburg, Black/African American/Afro Latinx, Trans Woman. She owns an underground nightclub. A mother figure to many, dealing in secrets of high profile clientele. Will be required to lipsync a song.

Amelie Treacher*, Any Race, Cis Woman/Trans Woman/Non-Binary. A High School English Teacher. Resistance Leader. In a relationship with Bunny Billings. Will perform a brief dance number and a lipsync.

Bunny Billings*, Any Race, Cis Woman/Trans Woman/Non-Binary. Vlad’s Sister. Spunky and boisterous. In a relationship with Amelie Treacher. Will perform a brief dance number and a lipsync.

*While the characters of Bunny, Ethel and Amelie are cisgender, we encourage performers of all gender identities to submit.
