SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in Nashville Children's Theatre's 2026-27 Season (See breakdown).

NCT encourages local Nashville area actors to audition.

PREPARATION

Please prepare one monologue totaling no more than one (1) minute. In addition, to be considered for any musicals, prepare 32-bars from a contemporary musical with sheet music to supply to our accompanist in the desired key. Please bring your book in case you are asked to sing an additional song. Also, please bring a current headshot and resume as well as any conflicts for the season. There will be a general audition form to fill out upon arrival.

SYNOPSIS: Jump into the magical world of Mother Goose with your youngest learners as she takes us through a silly, laugh-out-loud version of her typical day. Exploring some of her most beloved nursery rhymes, the magical Mother Goose invites little ones to join in with each classic rhyme’s story. Together we learn that the very best way to do what needs to be done is to do it together.

SYNOPSIS: This whimsical musical follows two great friends – the cheerful, energetic Frog and the rather grumpy Toad – through four fun-filled seasons. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special. Part vaudeville, part make believe... all charm, A Year with Frog and Toad tells the story of a friendship that endures throughout the seasons.


SEEKING:

Frog - Adult Role, Male Presenting. Caring and loyal. Always looking out for his friends. Calm, adventurous and assured.

Toad - Adult Role, Male Presenting. A timid, hard worker, but impatient for results. Self-conscious. Stubborn. A good friend to Frog.

Ensemble 1 - Bird/Snail/Lizard/Father Frog/Mole- Adult Role, Any Gender. Ranges from blind determination of a nerdy snail to the "cool kid" attitude of a slick lizard.

Based on the popular “seek & find” and “I spy” books, this NCT original invites our littlest theatre-goers to play detective while we search for those rascally run-away letters.

POLKADOTS: THE COOL KIDS MUSICAL

SYNOPSIS: This modern, acclaimed, family-friendly musical is inspired by Civil Rights pioneers Ruby Bridges and The Little Rock Nine. It centers on 8-year-old Lily Polkadot, who faces bullying as the first Polkadot in an all-Square school, promoting themes of acceptance and friendship. An upbeat and accessible way into an important history lesson with a colorful reminder that our differences are what make us all cool kids.


SEEKING:

Lily Polkadot - Adult Role, Female Presenting. Black. Lily is the sunlight in the midst of a storm; smart, charming and strong willed; she has the task of being the first of her kind ever integrated into a school of all Squares.

Mrs. Square/Mama Square - Adult Role, Female Presenting. Doubles as both characters: Mrs. Square is the teacher at Rockaway Elementary responsible for integrating Polkadots and Squares; she’s the disciplinarian – conflicted yet gentle and loving all in the same. Mama Square is a loudmouth, overbearing and stuck in her ways.

Penelope Square - Adult Role, Female Presenting. A straight up bully; bratty, loud and entitled; the world revolves around Penelope, and we just happen to be living in it; older sister to Sky Square.

Sky Square - Adult Role, Male Presenting. Video games illuminate his imagination; he’s anxiously shy, friendly, quirky and curious; younger brother to Penelope Square and admirer of Lily Polkadot.

Triangle/Ensemble - Adult Role, Any Gender. The newest new kid.
