Position Summary:

Associate General Manager needed to work for a Broadway, Touring and West End Production Office. Candidate will work directly for the General Manager and closely with the Producer, Executive Producer, Company Manager and other Management Staff of each production. The ideal candidate will be very experienced in accounting, budgeting, negotiating, union labor relations, contract and policy writing and have a strong understanding of the Broadway and Touring industry, its community and structure. Candidates must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize while remaining calm, accurate and organized. Additional strengths would include experience in communicating with members of a theatrical creative team and their representation.

Responsibilities:

Position would support the General Manager and be responsible for administrative duties including but not limited to:

· Ensuring a smooth flow of information between the Company Manager, General Manager, Executive Producer and Producers.

· Creating and maintaining budgets including developmental, operating, production and press and promotion.

· Reviewing all accounting and banking with each show’s production accountant and company manager and maintaining accurate and clear reporting.

· Developing and maintaining production schedules in conjunction with Production Managers, Stage Managers, Company Managers, Vendors, the General Manager and Producers.

· Negotiating contracts for all levels and categories of staff, including cast, crew, theatre, etc.

· Writing and implementing contracts based on agreed negotiations.

· Interview and make recommendations for various staffing positions as necessary.

· Develop and maintain policies and protocols for each production including Sexual Harassment, Health & Safety, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, Non-Discrimination, etc.

· Liaise with the International Manager to support the needs of foreign and licensed productions.

· Oversee Company Managers and Assistants to ensure standardized routines, policies, accounting and reporting.

· Oversee and be able to implement payrolls, union benefits reports, processing tax returns, workers compensation, audit preparation and coordinating travel for cast, crew and/or creative staff.

· Work closely with the Company Manager and House Manager at the theatre during performances as necessary by interfacing with the box office staff, front of house staff, backstage cast and staff members and generating box office reports as needed, assisting with marketing events as needed, and working with the producers on “in theatre” events, such as opening nights, production meetings, welcoming producer guests, etc.

Traits and Characteristics

The Associate General Manager is an excellent communicator who is able to listen carefully to issues and creatively problem-solve in order to find a solution that works for all parties. The Manager has very strong interpersonal skills that is able to tactfully handle various personalities and strong opinions of others and effectively manage a positive outcome and to communicate the same to the employer. The Manager will also be able to handle difficult or sensitive issues with patrons and treat all parties fairly and foster a positive and productive result.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants should ideally have previous responsible management experience within the theatrical industry. Applicants should demonstrate a current understanding and involvement with Broadway, Off-Broadway or similar Regional Theatre commercial productions.

Compensation:

Annual Salary plus Health Benefits.

SALARY

$85,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
