Job Details

DESCRIPTION

Little Island is seeking an Assistant Producer to join the Artistic Programming team. Little Island is home to two distinct outdoor performance spaces where we produce, develop, and present original artistic programming. The Assistant Producer will provide essential administrative and logistical support for our programming season, which runs from June through September, as well as for development and rehearsals that take place year-round.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with strong project management skills and the ability to anticipate needs effectively. They should be adept at determining when to address issues independently and when to seek further guidance. We strongly encourage candidates with experience supporting new work across various artistic disciplines and those familiar with outdoor environments to apply. The Assistant Producer will support the work of two Producers and will be directly supervised by one of them.

  • Serve as a liaison and critical creative partner on-site for artists and internal and external stakeholders throughout all project phases, establishing trust and effective communication to ensure that performances are delivered with a high standard of care and artistic quality.
  • Function as the lead producer for readings, development processes, and Glade presenting project processes as assigned.
  • Assist General Management with off-season artist onboarding coordination, payment processing, and rehearsal room hospitality as needed.
  • Conduct in-depth research on creative team members and performers, as well as script analysis, to provide information that supports the Associate Producing Artistic Director and Producers in their decision-making and hiring processes.
  • Schedule and coordinate creative team meetings, casting sessions, readings and development work.
