SEEKING
Non Union actors for new musical comedy A HEALTHY MARRIAGE. Actors who are local to Central Jersey are encouraged to submit.

SYNOPSIS
This new musical comedy takes place in New Brunswick, NJ in 1927 and features the remaining five members of a church choir whose numbers have dwindled following the double murder of their church rector and a choir member with whom he was having an affair. The score evokes American musical and jazz traditions.

AVAILABLE ROLES

WILLIE/WICKIAN - Male or Female identifying, age range 25-45. Vocal range A3-A5. All actors play choir members who become other characters from the story. Willie is part of the founding family of Johnson & Johnson and a member of the Central Jersey elite. He’s fiercely loyal to his sister Frances and their family, and known to wear a pistol. Polite society might consider him peculiar. A consummate bachelor whose sole focus and source of inspiration is the repeal of prohibition.


JAMES/WICKIAN - Male, age range 40-60. Vocal range A3-G4. All of the actors play choir members who become the other characters from the story. James is a janitor, splitting his time working part-time at a church and local public school. He comes from poverty and has accepted he’ll die poor. He has a beautiful young wife, also poor, who he married when she was very young. They and their children are dedicated parishioners at the church where he works.
