Pop/Rock Songs from 60s/70s. Please also prepare one 90-sec monologue. Contemporary is most helpful. Please bring your headshot and resume stapled together.

SEEKING:

LARRY WALTERS: (CAST - seeking cover) Rock Tenor. Playing age: 20-44 A truck driver and Vietnam veteran. Larry has always considered himself an outsider, but he is also proud, stubborn and fiercely determined. He is an amateur inventor, nerdy and awkward, yet also hopeful and intense. A dreamer who wears his heart on his sleeve. Rock tenor.

WALKING COVER CAROL VAN DEUSEN: (CAST - seeking cover) Rock/Pop Mezzo with a strong belt. Playing age: 20-52 A secretary at a TV studio and lover of cats. Carol is a shy and cautious outsider who becomes more assertive and impulsive as she helps to make Larry’s flight a reality. She is protective, grounded, practical and kind and extremely organized.

RON RICHLAND: M. Baritone/Strong Rapper. Playing age: 33-54. Larry’s friend. A truck driver and movie nerd. Ron once dreamed of becoming a Hollywood filmmaker and cameraman but gave up on his dream as a teenager. Warm, supportive, nerdy and laidback.

MARGARET VAN DEUSEN (CAROL’S MOM): F. Pop Mezzo with a more mature, soulful tone - G4 to strong E6 belt. Playing age: 50-71 Carol’s mom. A single parent who wants what is best for her daughter. Strong, wise, protective, cautious, disapproving, conscientious and sensible.

DAVID LETTERMAN: M. Pop Tenor/Confident Rapper. Playing age: 35. A late-night talk show host on NBC. A big TV personality and a showman. Charismatic, confident, funny, sometimes at the expense of the guests on his show.

JERRY FLECK (THE KID): Any gender. Strong Rock vocal. Playing age: 8-29 A young kid who witnesses Larry’s flight. An outsider. Energetic, enthusiastic and naive. Strong rock vocal.
