The Jack of Hearts Club will make its world premiere at The Provincetown Theater beginning October 2, and the musical has found its full cast.

The work, written by Jon Richardson, takes place in a Provincetown gay bar in summer 1963, and "invites audiences to step inside the safe and celebratory confines of the storied old bar... where laughter, longing, and love take center stage," according to press notes.

Starring will be Mary Callanan, James Jackson Jr., Angelo McDonaugh, Marissa Miller, Jon Richardson, Brittany Rolfs, Joao Santos, Chris Spaulding, Mike Sullivan, and Peter Toto.

Leda Hoffman will direct, leading a creative team that also includes musical director Nevada Lozano, choreographer Jeffrey Gugliotti, scenic designer Shannon Robert, lighting designer Stephen Petrilli, costume designer Carol Sherry, sound designer Dale Wallingford, and production stage manager Gregory Fletcher.

The run will continue through November 2.

“Provincetown has always been a haven for people who didn’t fit elsewhere,” says Richardson in a statement. “This show is about that moment in history when queer people found each other, fell in love, and built a world together, even when the larger world told them not to. At its core, it’s about joy, community, and the bravery of belonging.”

Tickets are at ProvincetownTheater.org.
