The six winners of the 50th Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, held last week at the Lynn F. Angelson Theater, have been revealed. Presented by Concord Theatricals, the festival is the nation's premiere short play competition.

Since 1975, the OOB Festival has invested in introducing emerging playwrights by producing their short plays on New York stages. Thirty plays, selected from over 750 submissions, vied for a spot in the finals at the week-long event. Six winning works have been selected, and those plays will be published and licensed by Concord Theatricals’ Samuel French imprint.

This year's winners include A Middle Passage by Yide Cai (蔡逸得), ALIFORNIA by Daniel Holzman, archy and mehitabel one last time by J.R. Stephens, Bump –> Set –> Spike –> Bruise by Diana Lobontiu, Godbird by Nurit Chinn, and SEARCH ENGINE by Raffi Donatich.

Judges for this year’s competition included playwrights Douglas Carter Beane, Eleanor Burgess, Matt Cox, Emily Feldman, Zora Howard, Susan Soon He Stanton, Anne Washburn, and Leah Nanako Winkler, as well as arts leaders Margaret Ledford, Jill Rafson, and Alexis Williams.

The 50th Annual Concord Theatricals Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival was produced by Concord Theatricals at The Lynn F. Angelson Theater and is not a production of Classic Stage Company.
