News Will Anne Hathaway Fly Into Theatres as Mary Poppins? Anne Hathaway has responded to rumors that she is slated to play Mary Poppins in the upcoming film.

It was recently announced that "Mary Poppins," the classic film based on P.L. Travers' children's book series, will be developed into a brand new, live-action film. The film will include new music by Tony winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

Anne Hathaway, who starred as Fantine in the "Les Miserables" film, is fans' number one to choice to play the English nanny. Emily Blunt, who co-starred with Hathaway in "The Devil Wears Prada," is also on the short-list for many fans.
