As usual, Broadway favorites abound in the upcoming new season of the New York-set murder mystery serial.

Broadway is back at the Arconia! Only Murders in the Building will be back for a fifth season on Hulu beginning September 9, and a new trailer offers a first look at the upcoming slate of new episodes. As reported at the end of the fourth season, these new episodes will feature our favorite podcaster trio (Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez) investigating the mysterious murder of beloved Arconia doorman Lester.

As usual, the cast of the Manhattan-set murder mystery looks to be filled to the brim with Broadway favorites, including Bobby Cannavale, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Jackie Hoffman, Meryl Streep, Beanie Feldstein, Keegan-Michael Key, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Dianne Wiest, and Teddy Coluca. The upcoming season also includes performances from Renée Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Michael Cyril Creighton, Logan Lerman, and Jermaine Fowler.

Past seasons have also featured Paul Rudd, Jayne Houdyshell, Jane Lynch, Tina Fey, and more.

Launching in 2021, the series follows three amateur murder sleuths-turned-podcasters as they investigate deaths in their Upper West Side apartment building, the Arconia. The show has been an Emmy-winning success, winning Broadway songwriters Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, Marc Shaiman, and Scott Wittman a 2024 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics ("Which of the Pickwick Triplets Did It," a song written for a fictitious Broadway musical being produced in the show's third season), and an Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy for season one guest star Nathan Lane, among other wins.

Martin and John Hoffman are co-creators of the series, and executive produce with Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal. According to reporting in Variety, the series is Hulu’s most-watched original comedy series to date.
