Tony and Oscar-nominated actor Anna Kendrick visited The Ellen Show to talk about her new book, Scrappy Little Nobody, which is due out November 15.
Kendrick describes the memoir as “funny stories and silly thoughts” about her life and experiences in the entertainment business. Kendrick, 31, remembers the strange time in her life when she earned her first Academy Award nomination for Up in the Air, but was still broke and unknown.
Now, the actor is known not only for her acting chops but her singing voice in movies like Pitch Perfect and Into the Woods. Kendrick began as a child actor on Broadway in High Society, for which she earned a 1998 Tony nomination.
Aside from her upcoming book, Kendrick stars alongside pop icon Justin Timberlake in the animated movie Trolls—in theatres November 4.
