London News Viral Sensation StarKid to Play London Palladium

Founded in 2009, the theatre company was one of the first to harness the power of the internet, launching the fledgling company into international acclaim.

StarKid Productions (otherwise known as Team StarKid) will play the London Palladium for one-night-only May 12.

Founded in 2009, the theatre company was one of the first to harness the power of the internet, launching the fledgling company into international acclaim. Beginning while many members of the company were attending college at the University of Michigan, their parody musical A Very Potter Musical took the internet by storm, spawning two highly successful sequels and a fiercely devoted fandom that has remained deeply supportive of the company over the ensuing 15 years.

Since Potter, StarKid has produced 15 full-length musicals, including both original works and well received parodies of Disney properties, Star Wars, Batman, and The Oregon Trail. While the Palladium concert will be their U.K. stage debut, the company has enjoyed three national concert tours across the United States, had multiple number-one albums on the Billboard Charts, performed sketch shows with The Second City in Chicago, and attended dozens of conventions across the world.

Individually, members of StarKid have had success on Broadway in shows like The Book of Mormon, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, American Buffalo and Sunset Boulevard, as well as on TV shows like Glee, American Crime Story, Jessie, and The Flash.

The lineup for the Palladium concert will include original StarKids Lauren Lopez, Joey Richter, Jaime Lyn Beatty, and Brian Holden, as well as beloved members of the company that had joined its ranks since the initial founding, including Meredith Stepien, Jeff Blim, Corey Dorris, and Clark Baxtresser.

The concert is produced by Lambert Jackson, who previously produced the Palladium concert of StarKid founding member and Tony nominee Darren Criss, who was joined by Lopez and Richter as special guests.
