The Entertainment Community Fund holds its annual gala May 1 at the New York Marriott Marquis, with cocktails beginning at 6 PM and the dinner and tribute following at 7 PM.
This year's event honors philanthropist Glorya Kaufman, Orion Pictures head Alana Mayo, Tony- and Olivier–winning producer Tom Kirdahy, and multi-hyphenate Tyler Perry, each receiving the ECF Medal of Honor. The evening also features performances.
"All year long, the Entertainment Community Fund provides services that address the unique needs of people who work in performing arts and entertainment, and we always look forward to our Annual Gala to celebrate those who work alongside us in this mission," said board chair and Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell in an earlier statement. "It’s a privilege to recognize the achievements of this year’s Medal of Honor recipients–Glorya Kaufman, Alana Mayo, Tom Kirdahy and Tyler Perry–during our first gala officially as the Entertainment Community Fund, as we commemorate their dedication and support they provide to the industry."
The Entertainment Community Fund is a national human services organization that fosters stability and resiliency and provides a safety net for performing arts and entertainment professionals over their lifespan.
