Broadway News Tony Award Winner Nikki M. James Weds Derek Oosterman The Broadway favorite celebrated her wedding in Amsterdam.

Broadway’s Nikki M. James wed longtime boyfriend Derek Oosterman this past weekend. The pair wed in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Among the guests were Michael Arden (director of the Broadway revival of Once On This Island, for which James served as assistant director), as well as her The Book of Mormon co-stars Andrew Rannells, Josh Gad, and Michael Potts.

James made her Broadway debut in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer in 2001 and returned to the Main Stem in 2005 with All Shook Up. She won a Tony Award in 2011 for her performance as Nabalungi in the smash The Book of Mormon. She then went on as the first Eponine in the 2014 revival of Les Misérables.

Last year, she starred in the City Center Encores! production of The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin, and has starred in production of Twelfth Night and Julius Caesar as part of the Public’s Shakespeare in the Park.

Oosterman works outside the business as the executive vice president of Convergent Energy and Power in New York City.
