The iconic piece of Broadway ephemera is just one of the items newly announced for Broadway Cares' upcoming Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction, set for September 21 from 10 AM–7PM on West 44th and West 45th Streets between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. The item is one of the high-profile offerings for the auction portion of the bi-annual fundraiser. Other items up for auction include:
- Cameo opportunities in Broadway's & Juliet and Death Becomes Her.
- Handwritten and signed musical phrases from Ragtime by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, Death Becomes Her by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey, Hamilton from Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Smash from Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.
- Rachel Zegler's dress and Dr. Martens boots from Romeo + Juliet.
- The chance to conduct the exit music from Wicked.
- Opportunities to shadow stage managers at The Lion King and Moulin Rouge! The Musical, and the audio team at The Outsiders.
- The chance to watch and listen to The Lion King and Hamilton from the orchestra pit.
- VIP house seats and star meet and greets.
- One-of-a-kind show memorabilia signed by Broadway stars.

Silent auctions will be available onsite at the September 21 event, with a live auction to be held at 5 PM. Auctioneer Nick Nicholson will be back to conduct the live portion, accompanied by stage and screen star Bryan Batt. The silent auction will be hosted by Broadway favorites Todd Buonopane, Jen Cody, and Michael Goddard.
Dionne Figgins will host the autograph table and photo booth, with participants to be announced.
Shows bringing tables of items to the sale include & Juliet, Aladdin, Buena Vista Social Club, Death Becomes Her, Gypsy, Hadestown, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Hell's Kitchen, Just in Time, The Lion King, Little Shop of Horrors, Maybe Happy Ending, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Operation Mincemeat, The Outsiders, Six, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, and Wicked.
A special Curtain Call table will host unique items from shows that recently ended their runs, including Redwood, Sunset Blvd., Titanìque, and more. Theatrical organizations bringing tables include the Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers (ATPAM), Broadway Green Alliance, Broadway Makers Alliance, the Entertainment Community Fund, The Metropolitan Opera, Playbill, The Public Theater, Sweet Hospitality Group, Telecharge and The Shubert Organization, and many more.
The event will also feature a table of items from Jerry Mitchell's career, hosted by the Tony winner, and a table honoring late Tony winner Chita Rivera.
The Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction had its humble beginnings when cast members of the original A Chorus Line set up two tables outside their stage door in Shubert Alley. Last year’s fundraiser brought in a record-breaking $1,237,179. Since 1987, the 37 editions of the event have raised more than $18.7 million. Last year's event raised more than $1 million for the non-profit.
