Theatre Royal Bath's 2021 revival of Noël Coward's Private Lives has set a West End bow, with performances scheduled to begin at the Ambassadors Theatre August 31. Opening night will be September 13, with the 12-week run continuing through November 25.

Nigel Havers (Downton Abbey) and Patricia Hodge (A Little Night Music) will reprise their performances as divorced couple Elyot and Amanda, who find themselves in neighboring hotel rooms while honeymooning with their new partners. Havers and Hodge will be joined by Dugald Bruce-Lockhart and Natalie Walker, also reprising their performances from the 2021 run. Christopher Luscombe directs.

The production ran at Theatre Royal Bath in fall 2021 before embarking on a U.K. tour last year. The upcoming West End bow will mark the 50th anniversary of Coward's death. Private Lives, one of Coward's most beloved works, premiered in 1930 in Edinburgh with Coward himself directing and starring. The play's Broadway debut came the following year, with Coward reprising his performance alongside Gertrude Lawrence and Laurence Olivier.

The upcoming revival will be the first production to play the Ambassadors following a multi-million-pound restoration effort from theatre owner Ambassador Theatre Group. The improvements include an access lift, six wheelchair spaces, accessible bathrooms, and increased access to audio support for the hearing impaired.
