Go inside rehearsals for the highly anticipated concert production of the Hugh Martin-Timothy Gray-Noël Coward musical.

High Spirits is getting ready to haunt New York City Center February 4–15 and Playbill has a first look at the star-studded concert production. Real-life couple Phillipa Soo and Steven Pasquale, Tony winners Andrea Martin and Katrina Lenk, Rachel Dratch, and more invited the press into their rehearsals, where they performed some songs from the show. Above see Soo and Pasquale, with some hilarious choreography by Dratch, perform "Where Is the Girl."

Below, the cast performs "Go Into Your Trance" and Lenk performs "You Better Love Me," plus up-close-and-personal photos from rehearsals. High Spirits is a musical comedy about a novelist named Charles Condomine (played by Pasquale), who holds a séance which accidentally summons the ghost of his deceased first wife Elvira (played by Lenk), who then haunts Charles and his new wife, Ruth (played by Soo).

Jessica Stone (Kimberly Akimbo) is directing and Ellenore Scott is choreographing, with musical director Mary-Mitchell Campbell leading The Encores! Orchestra. 

The cast also features Campbell Scott (House of Cards) and Jennifer Sánchez (Real Women Have Curves) as Mrs. Bradman.

The ensemble includes Brandon Block, Delphi Borich, Marcus Byers Jr., DeMarius R. Copes, Deanna Cudjoe, Lili Froehelich, Katie Griffith, Benjamin Howes, Caroline Kane, Ross Lekites, Devon McCleskey, Michael Pesko, Jeremiah Valentino Porter, Sean Stack, Halli Toland, Kamille Upshaw, and Kristin Yancy.

Adapted from Noël Coward's Blithe Spirit, the 1964 musical features a score by Hugh Martin and Timothy Gray. The original Broadway production was nominated for eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

This upcoming production features a concert adaptation by Billy Rosenfield, along with scenic design by David Zinn, costume design by Jennifer Moeller, lighting design by Bradley King, and sound design by Megumi Katayama.

The Encores! season will subsequently continue with productions of The Wild Party and La Cage aux Folles.
