Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 will give a world premiere run to The Keep Going Songs, a new piece by singer-songwriting duo The Bengsons. Performances will begin April 20 at the Claire Tow Theater, with opening night set for May 2. The limited engagement will continue through May 26.
Both Abigail and Shaun Bengson will perform the new group of songs, which explore grief and rebirth. Press notes describe the show as "part concert, part wake, [and] part theatrical extravaganza."
Caitlin Sullivan (Verité) is directing the production, which will feature scenic design by Cate McCrea, costume design by Hahnji Jang, lighting design by Alejandro Fajardo, and sound design by Nick Kourtides. Kristy Bodall will be stage manager.
The Bengsons' theatrical work includes Sovereignty Hymns, My Joy Is Heavy, Hundred Days, The Lucky Ones, Where the Mountain Meets the Sea, Anything That Gives Off Light, You'll Still Call Me By My Name, and Iphigenia in Aulis.
ASL interpretation will be offered at performances May 9 and 18, captioned performances May 11 and 16, and mandatory masked performances May 5 and 23.
