Actor Taylor Novak (Wolf Hound, The Elephant Man, King Lear) has joined A Summoned Experience in the role of Fitz MacGregor. The leading role, initially shrouded in secrecy, was revealed at the September 7 immersive event A Summoned Experience: Afternoon Tea. Novak will now lead the interactive company alongside Samantha Rose Baldwin.
Also revealed at the Afternoon Tea event was the theme for the next installation: an immersive masquerade ball patterned off of a scene from the yet-to-be released second book in the Summoned series, Crossed.
Based on the Summoned series by M.B. Thurman, the immersive theatre experience recreates the fantastical settings of Thurman's world and invites fans to join the core characters of the series. Set in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Washington state, Summoned centers on Hadley Weston, a newfound witch who reunites with her secret lover, Fitz MacGregor, to solve a family mystery that originated during seventeenth century. With the Scottish witch trials and medieval Scotland as the backdrop, both uncover more than they had bargained for.
The American premiere of A Summoned Experience was staged September 7 in Forks, Washington. The sold-out event, which featured music from Summoned composer Cherish Danae and previously unreleased material from the next book in the series, Crossed, is the first of an annual residency for the experience and the rural town.
A Summoned Experience: Afternoon Tea featured Samantha Rose Baldwin (Stranger Things: Immersive Experience) as Hadley Weston, Trent Thurman as Henry Stuart, Britt Byrd (Twilight Of The Gods, She Kills Monsters) as Izzy MacGregor, Audrey Lilyquist as Maka “Hope” Nahimana, Vee Elle as Mia Davies, Anna McGuinness as Molly Young, Bill Brager as Ben Bergman, and Susan Brager as Sarah Bergman. Novak made a surprise appearance as MacGregor, alongside author Thurman.
