What show recently impressed you?
Pippin! I literally shed tears of joy throughout Andrea Martin's sequence, and I was a very enthusiastic member of a stop-the-show standing ovation for her. Diane Paulus rules. The cast is the most phenomenally talented and energetic troupe of performers ever to have graced a Broadway stage. Also loved Peter and the Starcatcher (the most genuinely theatrical play on Broadway [at the time]) and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. And kudos to everyone in Lucky Guy - especially Tom Hanks, who was clearly having the time of his life.
What production are you most excited to see?
Book of Mormon ('cause I haven't yet)...and can't wait for Bullets Over Broadway.
What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
Has there been a Jimmy Durante story/musical? I want to play him! Failing that, Iago in Othello.
What are your current/upcoming projects?
I'm currently playing Albert Einstein in Jay Prasad's bio-drama Einstein, directed by Obie winner Randolph Curtis Rand and featuring a wonderful cast. The Drama Desk Award-nominated WorkShop Theater Company keeps me busy with new projects. I've been in the development casts of a new play by Mark Loewenstern, Parish Dunkeld; a new play with music by David Dannenfelser and Patrick Gallagher, The Medicine Show (which had a run in FringeNYC); and a new docu-play by the prolific Rich Orloff, "Chatting with the Tea Party." Stay tuned...
