To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the international hit musical Les Misérables, a company of over 400 joined voices for the musical's rousing Act One finale, "One Day More," at this year's Royal Variety Performance.
Among the performers were 11 amateur societies from all corners of the U.K.; drummers from Guildhall Young Artists; the French company from the Théâtre du Châtelet; the West End company; and special guest stars, including Michael Ball, who created the role of Marius in the original London production.
