The Shubert Organization has announced the members of its 2023 internship program, running July 10–August 18.
The initiative is part of Shubert's efforts to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Broadway industry. The internship will provide participants with training in theatre administration and operations. Interns will work on projects hands-on as the organization prepares for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.
This year's Theatre Management internship participants are Ratatosk Clarke, a senior at Brooklyn High School of the Arts, and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, a freshman at SUNY Cortland. Dylan Gozdziewski, a freshman at Boston University, was selected for a Ticketing Technology internship, while Zion Joelle Ross, a freshman at Pace University, will be a Ticketing Operations intern. Zeta Sampson, a freshman at The New School, will be a Human Resources/DEI intern, and Lara Stone, freshman at University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, will intern in Facilities Project Management.
Interns will be paid $18 an hour with 20 hours per week of work, and will also receive weekly MTA Metrocards, tours of Shubert theatres, development opportunities, and access to Broadway shows and events.
Applicants were evaluated by Shubert's 10-member Education and Training subcommittee. This year's interns were selected from 93 applicants from 66 campuses in 12 states and three countries.
