Maine's Ogunquit Playhouse has assembled a cast of Broadway notables to board their ship of dreams in Titanic, set to perform October 2–November 2. Shaun Kerrison is directing the Maury Yeston-Peter Stone musical.
Featured in the cast will be David Benoit (Jekyll & Hyde) as Isidor Straus and Boxhall, Debra Cardona (Funny Girl) as Ida Straus, Matías De La Flor (Camelot) as Frederick Barrett and Benjamin Guggenheim, Charlie Franklin (Floyd Collins) as Harold Bride, Allyson Gishi (My Fair Lady) as Kate Murphey, Lucas Hakoshima as Herbert Pitman, Leah Horowitz (Titanic) as Charlotte Cardoza and Maid, Ben Jacoby (Beautiful) as Thomas Andrews, Daniel Kushner (Fiddler on the Roof) as Charles Clark, Kruz Maldonado (Peter Pan) as Bellboy, Elizabeth Mandell as Kate Mullins, Steven Martella as Jim Farrell, Greg Mills (The Phantom of the Opera) as Henry Etches, Brian Ray Norris (Spongebob Squarepants) as Edgar Beane, Jordan Okeke as Hitchens, Shereen Pimentel (Cats: "The Jellicle Ball") as Caroline Neville and 3rd Class Ladies Maid, Aaron Robinson as Wallace Hartley, Paul Scanlan as William Murdoch, Rashidra Scott (Sunset Boulevard) as Alice Beane, Brendan Jacob Smith as Frederick Fleet, Wesley Taylor (Only Murders in the Building) as J. Bruce Ismay, Schyler Vargas as Charles Lightoller, DeLaney Westfall (Sweeney Todd) as Kate McGowan, and Charles Shaughnessy (Spamalot) as Captain E.J. Smith. Swings Brooks Andrew and Mia McManamy round out the company. Casting is by ARC.
The production will feature choreography by Abbey O’Brien, music direction by Ken Clifton, scenic design by Adam Koch, lighting design by José Santiago, sound design by Kevin Heard, projection design by Bryce Cutler, and wig, hair, and make-up design by Roxanne De Luna. Jeffrey Campos is the associate music director, and T.J. Kearney (Spring Awakening) is the production stage manager. Ogunquit's staging is also using the musical's 1997 Tony-winning original costume design, by Stewart Laing.
With music and lyrics by Yeston (Nine, Grand Hotel) and a book by Stone (Woman of the Year, 1776), Titanic won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book.
