Get an inside look at & Juliet's third anniversary on Broadway with celebratory photos of the cast and crew onstage in the gallery below. The November 18 evening show culminated in a special curtain call performance of Ariana Grande's "Yes, And?" by current and past Juliets Gianna Harris, Maya Boyd, and Lorna Courtney. See the performance in the video below. (Max Martin, whose songs form the score of & Juliet, was a co-writer and producer on "Yes, And?")
The Tony-nominated jukebox musical opened at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre November 17, 2022, transferring from its hit West End run. Picking up where Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet ends, when Shakespeare's wife Anne Hathaway comes to visit him in London, she suggests that the lovestruck teenager's story shouldn't end in tragedy. The reimagining to Juliet's story unfolds to a soundtrack of pop songs written by Grammy winner Max Martin.
The current cast is led by Harris in the title role, alongside Hayden Tee as Lance, Alison Luff as Anne, Drew Gehling as Shakespeare, Michael Iván Carrier as May, Cheryl Porter as Angélique, Liam Pearce as Romeo, and Nathan Levy as François.
As previously announced, Grammy Award winner and Tony Award & Emmy Award nominee Kandi Burruss will join the company as Angelique December 11, for performances through March 8, 2026. James Monroe Iglehart will return to the role of Lance December 2, and Teal Wicks will take over the role of Anne November 24, 2025-February 22, 2026.
Luke Sheppard directs the Broadway production, reuniting his full West End creative team including choreographer Jennifer Weber, scenic designer Soutra Gilmour, costume designer Paloma Young, lighting designer Howard Hudson, sound designer Gareth Owen, video and projections designer Andrzej Goulding, and hair designer J. Jared Janas. Bill Sherman serves as musical supervisor, orchestrator, and arranger, with Dominic Fallacaro as music director. Casting is by Stephen Kopel and Carrie Gardner.
Featuring a book by Emmy winner David West Read (Schitt's Creek), the score of songs by Martin is filled with familiar pop songs from the last three decades, such as “Since U Been Gone,” “Roar,” “Baby One More Time,” “Larger Than Life,” “That’s The Way It Is,” and “Can’t Stop the Feeling."
