The longtime friends and co-stars are reunited on Broadway this season in Gutenberg! The Musical!.

Longtime friends and co-stars Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells appeared on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show to talk about their current starring roles in Gutenberg! The Musical!, which has reunited them on the Broadway stage for the first time since their performances in The Book of Mormon. See their full chat with Fallon in the video above.

During the interview, Gad noted that out of all the late night talkshow appearances he's had throughout his extensive career, his mother still looks back on one moment as her favorite memory. "For some reason, my mother always says to me, 'I'll never forget the time you and Andrew sang 'Take On Me' with Jimmy Fallon. It was my favorite.'" With Gad's mother in the audience, the trio recreated the performance of the hit A-ha song 11 years after their original rendition. See the special moment in the clip below.

Gutenberg! The Musical! opened on Broadway October 12 after beginning previews September 15. Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells star in the new musical, penned by Scott Brown and Anthony King.

Tony winner Alex Timbers directs the Broadway premiere, which is set for a limited engagement through January 28, 2024 at the James Earl Jones Theatre. Gutenberg! follows Gad and Rannells as Bud and Doug, two guys who have written a musical about Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press. Convinced their show is ready for Broadway, they are holding a backers' performance in which they play all the parts, aided by hundreds of baseball caps adorned by character names.

Brown and King were Tony nominated in 2019 for Best Book of a Musical for their work on Beetlejuice. Gutenberg! The Musical! made its premiere Off-Broadway in 2006, which Timbers also directed.

The creative team includes scenic designer Scott Pask, costume designer Emily Rebholz, lighting designer Jeff Croiter, and sound designers M.L. Dogg and Cody Spencer. Music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations are by T.O. Sterrett, vocal supervision is by Liz Caplan, and music direction is by Marco Paguia. Casting is by C12 Casting. Rachel Sterner serves as production stage manager. Russell Daniels and Sam Hartley are standbys for Bud and Doug.
