RuPaul's Drag Race winner Sasha Velour will celebrate the 10th anniversary of her drag revue NightGowns with NightGowns 10 Year Anniversary at La MaMa. The seven-show residency will run August 27-September 1, with Velour joined by Sasha Colby, Kevin Aviance, Tenderoni, King Molasses, Elle McQueen, Vigor Mortis, The Illustrious Pearl, and more.

“Ten years—this is history! And if we made it, anyone can," says Velour in a statement. "Determination and hard work have embedded NightGowns into the traditions of drag in New York City…or maybe even the world. When our art form and our people are being criminalized, erased, displaced, having that kind of longevity and legacy—or just knowing it’s possible to survive—is a source of POWER. I am deeply honored to celebrate the audiences and artists who have made NightGowns into the platform and space that it’s become over the last decade, as we toast to the power of drag artists around the world.”

Velour launched the series in 2015 at Bizarre Bushwick. In the years since, it has become an all-inclusive, internationally acclaimed drag revue that combines performance art with grassroots activism. In the last three seasons, the series has raised more than $80,000 for organizations supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, immigrants, and for direct aid in Gaza.

The drag artist is scheduled to premiere her next solo show, Travesty, next year at Washington, D.C.'s Woolly Mammoth Theatre before touring Europe.
