Off-Broadway News Rolonda Watts Joins Off-Broadway's Sandblasted, New Dates Announced

The world premiere play by Charly Evon Simpson is a joint production from Vineyard Theatre and WP Theater.

Rolonda Watts, known for her mid-'90s television talk show Rolonda, has joined the cast of the world premiere production of sandblasted. The Vineyard Theatre and WP Theater co-production has also announced new start dates for the Charly Evon Simpson–penned play; previews will now begin February 6, ahead of a February 27 opening night at Off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre. 

Watts replaces the previously announced Khandi Alexander as Adah, a celebrity-turned-wellness maven in the story which finds its heroines, Angela and Odessa, searching for healing, but finding the journey just might be the cure. 

The cast also includes Marinda Anderson, Brittany Bellizeare, and Andy Lucien. Summer L. Williams makes her New York directing debut with the piece. 

The design team will include scenic designer Matt Saunders, costume designer Montana Levi Blanco, lighting designer Stacey Derosier, sound designer Sadah Espii Proctor, hair and wig designer Cookie Jordan, and casting director Kelly Gillespie.
