Cabaret favorite Roberto Araujo is bringing his Bistro Award-winning show I Just Wanted You to Know back to The Green Room 42 for an encore performance September 20 at 7 PM. A live stream of the concert will be available, alongside in-person tickets.

Araujo debuted the show at the NYC cabaret venue last year, later winning a Bistro Award for Best Autobiographical Show. The show intersperses stories and anecdotes from Araujo's life, from growing up in Mexico City to moving to NYC on his own at the age of 20, with a song list that includes tunes by Stephen Sondheim, David Yazbek, Steven Lutvak, and more.

As at the 2023 premiere, the evening will see Araujo backed by a five-piece band led by music director Yasuhiko Fukuoka. The show is directed by Mónica Huarte and features musical staging by Jason Wise.

Hailing from Mexico City, Araujo has appeared in Mexico and the U.S. in such musicals as Rent, Guys and Dolls, Cats, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, Xanadu, Les Misérables, and In the Heights. He was featured as the singing voice of Joseph in Dreamworks' Joseph: King of Dreams.

As a cabaret performer, he brought an earlier show, Do You Dream in Spanish, to The Green Room 42 in 2019, and returned for an encore performance of the show later the same year. He's also a winner of the Outstanding Featured Performer Award at the Fresh Fruit Festival.

A multi-hyphenate artist, Araujo is also a photographer and video producer whose work has been featured in Playbill, ANIMIZE Magazine, and Beautiful Magazine. Araujo is a video journalist with NY1's On Stage team.

Tickets, which include a live stream option, are available at TheGreenRoom42.venuetix.com.
