Classic Stage Company's revival of Bertolt Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui celebrated its official Off-Broadway opening November 14. Raúl Esparza takes on the title role in the political allegory, marking a reunion between the four-time Tony nominee and CSC Artistic Director John Doyle following the 2006 revival of Company.
Completing the cast are George Abud, Eddie Cooper, Tony nominee Elizabeth A. Davis, Christopher Gurr, Omozé Idehenre, Mahira Kakkar, and Thom Sesma.

The play, written in 1941 while Brecht was in exile from Nazi Germany, uses a vaudevillian portrayal of American mafia culture to parallel events that brought the Third Reich to power.
The production features sets by Doyle, costumes by Ann Hould-Ward, lighting design by Jane Cox and Tess James, and sound design by Matt Stine.
