Winners receive $525,000 over seven years and up to $25,000 for retirement.

Winners of the 2025 Doris Duke Artist Awards have been revealed, and some theatre names are among them. Each winner will receive $525,000 over seven years, and an incentive of up to $25,000 to save for retirement.

Theatre artists recognized this year are Raja Feather Kelly (A Strange Loop), Aya Ogawa (The Nosebleed), and Kaneza Schaal (Flight Into Egypt: Black Artists and Ancient Egypsy, 1876-Now), with additional wins going to Trajal Harrell, Kassa Overall, and Brandee Younger.

The awards are the largest U.S. prize dedicated to performing artists in the world of theatre, jazz, and dance. Since its inception, the honor has awarded more than $40 million cumulatively to nearly 150 artists.
