The world premiere of Rachel Bonds' Jonah is set to begin performances January 11, 2024 via Roundabout Theatre Company. The production officially opens February 1, with the limited engagement set to continue through March 10 at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre.
Danya Taymor directs the coming of age tale, which follows two students at a boarding school. The work considers the cost of survival, and the lengths we go to feel a little less alone in the world.
The cast features Tony nominee Gabby Beans as Ana, Hagan Oliveras as Jonah, Samuel Henry Levine as Danny, and John Zdrojeski as Steven. Check out photos of Bonds, Taymor, and the company of Jonah in the gallery below.
The creative team includes set designer Wilson Chin, costume designer Kaye Boyce, lighting designer Amith Chandrashaker, sound designer Kate Marvin, and hair and wig designer Tommy Kurzman. Illusions are by Morgan Auld, and movement is by Tilly Evans-Krueger. Gigi Buffington serves as the voice and text coach, with Ann James as the intimacy director.
