Tony winners Bernadette Peters and Beth Leavel, both recently seen in the Broadway premiere of Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends, co-hosted the 27th annual Broadway Barks July 12 in Shubert Alley. Check out photos from the star-studded afternoon in the gallery below.
The annual dog and cat adoption event, co-founded by Peters and the late Mary Tyler Moore, features adoptable animals from NYC-area adoption agencies and rescue groups introduced by Broadway favorites. Produced by Broadway Cares, the festivities kicked off at 3 PM with a meet and greet of all the adoptable pets, followed by the celebrity presentations at 5 PM.

Over the past 26 years, more than 2,500 dogs and cats have grabbed Broadway’s spotlight with approximately 85% finding forever homes. The annual event is free and open to the public. Proceeds benefit the participating shelters and rescue groups.
