A majority of the album, which will be produced by the composer and StylesFour Productions, was recorded live at Alan's already sold-out Birdland concert on April 30 at 7 PM. The recording featured musical direction, arrangements and orchestrations by Jesse Vargas. Due to Monday-night Broadway schedules, some talent recorded their tracks prior to the 7 PM concert.

Because the 7 PM concert sold out, Birdland added a 3 PM "Behind the Scenes" concert, which also served as a sound check for the performers and the musicians.
