Patrick Page (Hadestown) will lead Red Bull Theater's production of Titus Andronicus spring 2026. Shakespeare's tragedy will play the The Pershing Square Signature Center’s Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre March 17–April 19, 2026. An official opening night is set for March 29.
Jesse Berger will direct the play following victorious general Titus Andronicus who executes his enemy’s son in a merciless show of vengeance, but has no idea of the evil his actions will incite. As the two sides trade violent acts of retribution, one man revels in the bloodbath.
"Since founding Red Bull Theater, people have been asking me when we would tackle Titus. Now is the time, Patrick is the actor, and the play itself meets our fraught political moment in exciting and apt ways—a Shakespearean thriller all about standing up for justice against the encroaching chaos, at the fall of a corrupt Empire. A Democratic Republic in chaos, being torn apart from within. A society overflowing with rampant violence, and a world worn weary and raw by war," said Berger in a statement. "I can’t wait to dive into it with Patrick and the amazing team we are assembling for this wild Shakespearean adventure."
Further casting and creative team details will be revealed at a later date. Post Hadestown, star Page has been slowly making his way through Shakespeare's canon, having led a regional production King Lear as well as tour his one-man show All the Devils Are Here, about Shakespeare's villains.
Red Bull is currently producing Richard II, starring Michael Urie.
