Chicago’s Paramount Theatre has announced that its 2016-17 Broadway Series will feature productions of Mamma Mia!, The Little Mermaid, Sweeney Todd-The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Jesus Christ Superstar.
The Jeff Award-winning regional theatre continues to uphold its reputation of inclusive casting. Ron Kellum, who will direct and choreograph the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice rock musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, has announced that it will be cast entirely with African-American actors. Performances are scheduled to run April 19-May 28, 2017.
The 2016-17 slate will kick off in September with Mamma Mia!, the ABBA-infused story of love and lost dreams set on a Greek Island. Performances are scheduled to run September 7-October 30.
